L’Equipe reported on Sunday that Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki is making a surprise move to Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old had a notable 2023-24 season, featuring in 39 matches, scoring three goals, and providing nine assists for OL.

This production might explain why the German side are keen on the young Frenchman, who is under contract at Lyon until 2025. If Les Gones want to secure a transfer fee for the player, this summer is the time to sell him.

According to a recent report from L’Equipe, PSG made an initial offer to Lyon, proposing €15 million plus €3 million in bonuses. However, Lyon turned down the offer because they want a significant sell-on clause included in any deal.

Sky Sport’s Patrick Berger provided the latest information, noting that Dortmund hasn’t entered into serious talks with Cherki yet, as he’s hesitant about moving to PSG and prefers Dortmund instead.

The 20-year-old is linked to various top clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, in addition to the capital club. It will be interesting to see whether any other club comes into the mix or if Dortmund can seal the deal for Cherki.
