Birmingham City's transfer activity has previously caught attention
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Ever since Knighthead Capital Management took control of Birmingham City in July 2023, one thing which has certainly caught the eye of those on the outside has been the transfer business conducted at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park.
That has particularly been the case during Chris Davies' spell as manager, which began in June 2024, ahead of the club's first and only season of League One football since the 1994/95 campaign, with Tom Wagner hoping to make a quick start on his well-documented rebuilding process that has the attached end goal of a Premier League return.
Davies was then handed the requisite tools in order to assemble a squad which could, and eventually, would blow the other 23 sides in the third-tier out of the water, with Blues romping to the title at a 19-point canter ahead of Wrexham, who have earned a similar reputation under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
As such, it cannot be disputed how much attention was cast on these parts of the Second City when a staggering eight-figure sum was agreed between Birmingham and Fulham for the former to acquire Jay Stansfield's services on a seven-year contract after a stellar loan stint from Craven Cottage, with the deal continuing to be worth every penny from a Blues perspective at this moment in time.
However, whilst further intrigue was generated through yet another high-profile recruitment drive after promotion to the Championship, it is fair to say that the 14 signings made by Davies in the summer have earned mixed reviews.
The likes of Tommy Doyle, Patrick Roberts, Demarai Gray and Marvin Ducksch have all impacted games strongly of late, whilst the jury remains out on figures such as Jack Robinson, Eiran Cashin, Lewis Koumas and Kyogo Furuhashi.
Therefore, any forthcoming activity in the January transfer window could also generate plenty of headlines, with Football League World's Blues fan pundit, Jason Moore, issuing a double prediction on this particular front.

Despite plenty of changes being made to Blues' squad and Davies' starting lineup in the opening months of the season, many supporters and onlookers have predicted a small number of changes being made at St. Andrew's when the window reopens for business on January 1st.
However, one of the areas which Moore believes will be addressed is at full-back, with Davies bound to be short of options on either flank due to injury or availability, with Ethan Laird and Lee Buchanan sidelined with hamstring and knee issues respectively.
"If there was a banker, I've probably got two," our fan pundit stated. "I reckon we will definitely sign a left-back.
"Ethan Laird's out until (at least) February and Bright Osayi-Samuel is going to the African Cup of Nations. I think we can cope with Tomoki Iwata at right-back, but we need cover for Alex Cochrane as you're going to be asking him to play a tonne of games.
Moore's second claim is that Davies will reduce the size of his attacking department, and that either one of Kyogo or Lyndon Dykes will be moved on.
However, he believes it is most likely to be the latter, given the fact he was the subject of interest from both Preston North End and Hibernian in the dying embers of the summer window, as well as potentially enhancing the 48-time international's chances of featuring at the upcoming FIFA World Cup for Scotland.
"I also think one of the strikers will go," he added. "Either Kyogo or Lyndon Dykes.
"It probably makes more sense for Lyndon Dykes to go, seen as he has a move lined up, and he's going to want to play football before the World Cup and get that starting spot for Scotland.
"Those are my two bankers. We get a left-back and Lyndon Dykes leaves."

It must be said that neither of these calls are unrealistic, with left-back being a problem position for Blues for some time despite the reliability which Cochrane offers.
It was exclusively revealed by Football League World that Blues hope to potentially loan out Buchanan whilst also looking to provide natural, rather than relatively dependable cover for Cochrane, who has racked up over 70 appearances for the club already.
Dykes has heavily been tipped for a move despite being continuously praised for his mentality and differing attributes by Davies, although, in recent weeks, his future has also been jeopardised as the Birmingham boss understands the striker's desire to be a starting figure in the United States, Canada and Mexico for Steve Clarke.
Whilst no targets in these areas have publicly emerged yet, it is completely understandable why they appear to be Davies' first port of call, whilst addressing the various bodies in attack behind Jay Stansfield and Marvin Ducksch could take place later on in the window.
