Celtic clinched the Double at Hampden Park on Saturday, securing a fairytale ending to a season that delivered some of the most dramatic moments in recent memory.

On the day, Martin O’Neill’s side were too strong for Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline Athletic, with Daizen Maeda, Arne Engels and Kelechi Iheanacho all on target in a 3-1 Scottish Cup Final victory.

The Pars did pull a goal back late on, but it did nothing to dampen the celebrations from the Celtic faithful inside the national stadium.

Celtic TV were there to capture all the post-match reaction as the players and staff reflected on an incredible week, a stunning end to the campaign, and the togetherness that carried the squad over the line.

Captain Callum McGregor, who lifted the Scottish Cup once again and is now the second most decorated player in the club’s history, said the belief inside the dressing room never wavered, even when others had written Celtic off.

“So many people had written us off," he said. "The reason we did it was because the group stayed together.”

The skipper also paid tribute to Martin O’Neill and the impact he made in guiding the squad through the final stretch of the season.

“He got a tune out of us again, and we all managed to come together to collect a Double at the end of the season.”

James Forrest, who added his 28th winner’s medal to his remarkable Celtic collection, said the squad’s unity had been crucial through the difficult moments.

“We stuck together through the bad times, and we’ve got the reward,” the winger said.

Assistant manager Shaun Maloney was emotional at full-time as he reflected on the work of the players, staff and everyone behind the scenes.

“We dreamed it could end this way, and we just slowly chipped away at it,” he said.

Man of the Match Arne Engels played a key role in the final, scoring Celtic’s second goal with a brilliant strike from distance, and said the squad deserved their moment.

“I’m really happy, not only with the performance, but with the win and with the Double. I think it’s what we deserve,” the Belgian midfielder said.

And Alistair Johnston praised the winning mentality of a group that continued to find a way during the decisive final weeks of the season.

“We’ve got a team that knows how to dig deep and knows how to find ways to win matches, even when you’re not at your best,” he said.

It was a fitting end to an extraordinary season. Celtic arrived at Hampden as Premiership champions, left as Scottish Cup winners, and closed the campaign as Double winners once again.
