Dragan Solak believes Leo Scienza is probably Premier League ready, speaking to the Daily Echo as he discussed Southampton’s transfer planning.

The transfer window is open for all EFL clubs, though Southampton moved early. Cyle Larin, Daniel Peretz and George Long were confirmed on permanent deals before 15 June.

Further additions are likely, but sales are expected, with central midfield most vulnerable. Caspar Jander and Shea Charles drew interest after strong Championship displays, and Solak rated Jander’s debut season in England highly. Charles’s Northern Ireland form has fuelled talk of a Premier League switch, with Leeds United cited as the latest top-flight admirer.

Stuttgart have also been linked with Jander after his Nurnberg stint. Taylor Harwood-Bellis has interest from Premier League newcomers Coventry City and Hull City.

Johannes Spors, the club’s technical director for transfer business, is steering recruitment, a partnership that has largely worked since his 2025 arrival. He is credited with landing Scienza from Heidenheim for about £8m, with the forward now regarded as worth around £25m.

Scienza delivered seven goals and nine assists under Eckert last season as promotion slipped away. He could be the likeliest big-money departure, with Everton among those monitoring him and interest from Brazil also emerging.
