FC Bayern is continuing to work on its future in the youth sector and suddenly a very big name has reappeared. Franck Ribéry could soon return to Säbener Straße. The constellation with Dante is likely to bring back nostalgic memories.

As planned, Dante will take over FC Bayern’s U23s in the summer, marking the start of his coaching career in Munich. According to Sky, the deal has already been finalized and the Brazilian will move directly to the sidelines after his career ends.

The question of his coaching team will now be particularly exciting. According to BILD, there have been rumours around the Bayern campus for some time that Franck Ribéry could join as assistant coach. The Frenchman’s return is being discussed internally and is gaining momentum.

The Frenchman is said to be open to a comeback, but a final decision has yet to be made. One thing is clear: the personnel matter is likely to make fans‘ eyes light up.

Ribery is already working on his pro license as a coach

Franck Ribéry shaped one of the record champions‘ most successful eras over the years. Between 2007 and 2019, the winger developed into one of the faces of the club and was a central part of the 2013 treble team.

Even after his active career, Ribéry remained closely connected to soccer. At the beginning of 2025, he told BILD: „I successfully completed my UEFA A coaching license last year.“ At the same time, he made it clear that he wants to develop further: „But I want to get the Pro license right afterwards.“

The 43-year-old went on to say: „Maybe I can then take over an older youth team or become an assistant coach at a good club under a good coach.“ He added: „As an ex-professional, I have a lot of experience, but I only realized after my playing career how difficult the job of a coach really is.“

Ribéry began his pro license course in the autumn and has been working specifically on his coaching career ever since. A return to Munich would therefore fit in perfectly with this development.
