The first period flew by with no real moments of quality from the away side, despite spells of possession in the opposition's half.
Kyrie Pierre was proving to be a tricky player to deal with for the home team as he went on an impressive run early in the first period, but he could not find the pass to unlock the Dulwich Hamlet defence.
Yerime Ouattara combined well with Michael Olakigbe on the edge of the box but again the finishing touch was difficult to find.
Marley Tavaziva made an unbelievable stop just before the half-time whistle as some miscommunication in the box saw the ball diverted his way. Quick reflexes saw him claw the ball away from danger.

The home side took the lead in the second period and it was a well-worked goal as their striker, Ruben Bartlett-Antwi, was slipped through on goal and he found the finish, sliding the ball past Tavaziva.
The Bees could have levelled soon after as second-half substitute Domeiro Bobb-Semple hit the post with a header in the box with the goalkeeper rooted.
Bobb-Semple was making his presence felt against the Dulwich backline and he went close again, firing a fierce shot towards goal, but Toby Bull made an impressive save to deny the striker. Coran Madden thought he had scored the rebound but Bull recovered well to make another stop.
Tavaziva had been the busier of the two goalkeepers and he made another important save to deny Bartlett-Antwi his second of the game.
Anthony Cook was next to test his luck as he shot from distance but his curled effort hit the crossbar with the home side now in the ascendancy.
That was how the game would end though, as the west Londoners were defeated.
Tuesday's defeat brought an end to Brentford’s run in a competition they reached the final of last season.
