Dundee climb to second as Wright and Bevan strike either side of the interval

Dundee beat Dundee United 2-0 at Tannadice to rise from fifth to second in the Scottish Premiership.

Drey Wright opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, driving a low shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner after a fast break.

After the restart, Finlay Robertson's corner delivery first brought an Owen Bevan header that missed (56.). Moments later, Bevan turned in Alan Forrest's ball from close range (57.).

Owen Goodman kept United at bay soon after the restart, smothering Abdoulaye Yoro from the centre. Jack Walton then tipped away Bradley Fink's point-blank header (69.).

United dominated the ball with 67.7% possession and produced 23 attempts but lacked a finish. Dundee registered 14 attempts and made 52 clearances to see it out.
