Dundee Utd and Motherwell drew 0-0 at Tannadice on Saturday, keeping the visitors third in the Scottish Premiership.

In the ninth minute, Callum Hendry's header from the centre was saved low by Dave Richards.

Stephen Welsh went off injured after treatment, with Liam Gordon replacing him soon after.

Zachary Sapsford forced Calum Ward into a save in the first minute of first half stoppage time.

After the restart, Amar Fatah twice went close from range (51., 57.) as United threatened on the break.

Richards then parried Hendry's drive (63.). Later changes saw Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, Emmanuel Longelo and Ibrahim Said introduced (73.), and Stamatelopoulos headed narrowly wide in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time.

Motherwell controlled 68.9% possession and registered 13 attempts. United managed one effort on target from nine attempts.
