Duo booked and suspended, Corinthians miss key players for Santos clash

Corinthians faced Mirassol in the 27th round of the Brasileirão, defeating the club from the interior of São Paulo 3-0 at the Neo Química Arena. Despite the three points and the regained confidence, the coaching staff will have to overcome two suspensions for the next game against Santos: Hugo Souza and Matheus Bidu.

Key starters, the players received their third yellow card during the last match, requiring them to serve an automatic suspension in the next round. Hugo Souza's case is less concerning, as he could already be absent due to his call-up to the Brazilian National Team, which will play in Asia.

On the other hand, the absence of Matheus Bidu makes the coaching staff rethink the formation to be used in the classic against Santos. Among the squad options are Fabrizio Angileri and Hugo Farias. The former came on against Mirassol, while the latter was a starter against Internacional.

In addition to the pair of players, Corinthians will also be without Dorival Júnior as the head coach on the sidelines. Lucas Silvestre, the assistant coach, will take on the role temporarily, as he did in the victory last Saturday. The head coach received a two-game suspension after being sent off at Beira-Rio.

The classic against Santos will take place only after the FIFA date. During this period, the coaching staff will have free days to train the group, with the absences of Hugo Souza, Félix Torres, Romero, and Memphis Depay, who have been called up. The return match of the Brasileirão is scheduled for the 15th at 9:30 PM (Brasília time) at Vila Belmiro.
