Durham have re-signed former forward Poppy Pritchard on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City.

The Wildcats announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 19-year-old attacker spent her youth with Durham. She came through the club’s Professional Game Academy before making her mark on the senior team. Pritchard made 22 appearances for Durham in all competitions at first team level, scoring two goals.

Pritchard’s good performances in a Durham shirt caught the eye of Manchester City and she joined The Cityzens in January 2024. Pritchard initially continued her development at The Joie Stadium before spending time on loan at Crystal Palace and Newcastle United last season.

Durham fans have been dreaming of Pritchard’s return ever since she left the club and they now have their wish with the player set to spend the 2025/2026 campaign back at Maiden Castle.

After re-joining Durham on loan, Pritchard said “It feels good to be back, I’m excited to be here.”

“The fans always showed me a lot of support when I was here last time, so I’m hoping they can do the same again.”

Pritchard could make her second Durham debut in their Barclays WSL2 fixture at Portsmouth this weekend.
