Barclays Women’s Championship club Durham have sold all of their tickets for their Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Manchester City at Maiden Castle.

The Wildcats put tickets on-sale from 6pm last night. More than half of the allocation was snapped up in the first four minutes of sales and the remainder have been purchased in the hours that have followed. No further tickets are expected to be made available to Durham supporters while Manchester City have been given a separate allocation.

While Durham have sold out a handful of fixtures at their Maiden Castle ground in the past, it has been reported that the attendance for the Manchester City fixture is likely to be a club record.

Durham’s fixture against Manchester City is one of the most eye-catching ties of the fourth round. The Wildcats have made Maiden Castle their fortress, especially against higher-ranked sides. The club famously defeated Manchester United on penalty kicks at the venue in last season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup. Durham have also given the likes of Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa a tough time at home in past years as they have taken full advantage of artificial surfaces at both New Ferens Park and Maiden Castle.

The Adobe Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Durham and Manchester City is scheduled to take place at Maiden Castle on Sunday 14 January 2024. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.
