Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche says he is still looking to strengthen his squad ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Reds have already added attacking depth with the addition of 6”7 striker Lorenzo Lucca on loan from Napoli, while links to Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi suggest further reinforcements in midfield may be possible.

Asked what he wants following Forest’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday, Dyche said: “We’ll see, because I think, in general, the squad is good.

“It’s been obvious, with noise about it, up front, and then all of a sudden T[aiwo Awoniyi] pops up with a goal and then we’ve got big [Lorenzo] Lucca coming in as well.

“Possibly, left-back is an area we can look at,” he continued.

“In midfield, to bolster it out, there’s still a lot of games coming. So, there’s varying things, with loads of players.

“We’ll see which ones we can land, because there’s two or three that I know of, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to get them, and it doesn’t mean we’re going to sign all of them either.”

Forest confirmed the arrival of Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega prior to kick-off, which comes as a timely boost after Matz Sels was withdrawn at half-time with a groin issue.

Dyche explained: “We want three keepers who are competitive and obviously when John [Victor] got injured, we looked at it and thought, right, okay, who’s out there?

“So, it’s good timing, we want that competitive element in that area.”

In terms of departures, Forest are not expecting any significant outgoings, with the exception of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was on loan from Arsenal but is reportedly close to a permanent move to Ajax, having failed to make the desired impact during his spell at the City Ground.

Asked about potential exits, Dyche added: “I think it’s highly unlikely, unless it’s our decision. I think we’ve got control of that, that’s for sure.”
