Ahead of Everton’s trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Monday, Sean Dyche has issued a positive injury update.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Toffees’ manager confirmed midfielders Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gana Gueye are both available after missing last weekend’s 1-0 win against Burnley.

On Onana, who has recovered from a brief injury, Dyche said: “he’s back training, he has been training today”, while Gueye, who was absent against the Clarets following the birth of his child, has been training all week according to his manager, who also stated that “his child and family are well.”

Elsewhere, both James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have missed training this week with “knocks” but Dyche is confident both will be fit for the game against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

“[Calvert-Lewin has] a minor niggly hamstring which we are just being ultra careful with. He thinks he is on top of it, and the medical team are as well,” he said.

“So we are just having to watch the players and make sure they are right. Mostly, we have just got knocks at the minute, nothing that we think will affect Monday against Chelsea.”

There is also a chance winger Arnaut Danjuma could be involved for the game. The Dutchman has been out since January with an ankle injury.

Regarding his availabilty, Dyche said: “Hopefully, providing he came through today, he has a bounce game tomorrow [match for the Under-21s]. We are going to use that to get him some minutes, he should at least be in the thoughts for Monday’s squad.”

The Toffees, who will continue to be without Lewis Dobbin and Dele, are just two points off the relegation zone after their two-point deduction for a second breach of Premier League financial rules.
