The last few years have not really gone as planned for the Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe. Since his arrival at the Merengue club, the Frenchman has been unable to lead his club team to any major trophy, even though he has won several individual titles, including the European Golden Boot and the Pichichi.
He also won the Golden Boot for the World Cup 2026, but was also unable to win the biggest international trophy with his French national team. To make things worse, the club he left to join the Merengue side, Paris Saint-Germain, went on to win the last two UEFA Champions League titles.
However, there is still no doubt about his superstar status in world football. This status is once again going to be clearly on display, as EA SPORTS FC has announced that Mbappe is going to feature on the cover of the upcoming edition of the game, namely, EA SPORTS FC 27.
Last year, it was another Real Madrid star who got on the cover of the most popular football game, i.e., Jude Bellingham, who appeared alongside the Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala on the Standard Edition cover for EA SPORTS FC 26. The Ultimate Edition featured Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Bellingham was alone on the cover for the Standard Edition in the previous year as well, for EA SPORTS FC 25, while the Ultimate Edition featured several iconic players like Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Gianluigi Buffon, and Aitana Bonmati.
For EA SPORTS FC 24, it was the Norwegian star Erling Haaland who featured on the cover of the videogame. Before that, the game was still called FIFA, and the last time Kylian Mbappe featured on the cover was for the very last edition of the game with this title, i.e., FIFA 23.
Now, after a break of three years, the Real Madrid star will once again feature on the most popular football video game cover, showcasing his immense popularity and marketability despite the last few underwhelming years.
