Early blitz lifts Ipswich Town into second on final day

Ipswich Town beat Queens Park Rangers 3-0 at Portman Road to climb from third to second on the final day.

In the third minute, George Hirst finished from close range to set the tone. Jaden Philogene doubled the lead soon after (9.) from Hirst's pass.

Christian Walton made key saves to thwart Nicolas Madsen before the interval, then Paul Smyth after the restart, as Queens Park Rangers pushed for a response.

After Kasey McAteer replaced Wes Burns around the hour, the Tractor Boys kept the tempo up. McAteer sealed the result with a left footed finish from the centre of the box (85.).
