Ebere Eze set for QPR return

Eze’s focus is now on the cup, with Palace making the trip to QPR as they look to book a place in the fourth round of the competition.

That will give the 26-year-old the chance to return to the club where he made his name, in what will be a first competitive appearance against QPR for Eze.

It will also give the player a chance to show his appreciation to the QPR support, and the Championship club shared a message from Eze on their social media account.

Hi QPR fans, it’s Eze here. I’m looking forward to coming back on Tuesday, I’m always grateful for the love and support you show me. It’s going to be a great day for sure. I’m not going to be supporting you that day, but other than that you know the love is always there. God bless.”

Ebere Eze will be fondly remembered at QPR

Of course, the game isn’t about Eze, and both clubs will be looking to progress into the next round, but you can be sure that the Palace number ten will get a positive reception.

Eze was a bright spark at a tough time for the Londoners, and his sale was a key one for the club as it brought in significant funds at a time when they were needed.

It also highlights the quality of the coaching at QPR, as they took Eze as a youngster after he left Millwall, and he blossomed into a player who has gone on to play for England in major tournaments, as well as in the Premier League.

So, he is a real success story for the club, and figures at the club will be delighted with how Eze’s career has progressed.

Crystal Palace offer a stern test for QPR

As for the game itself, it’s a great opportunity for the R’s to test themselves against some excellent players, and Marti Cifuentes will no doubt be intrigued as to how his side will cope.

Oliver Glasner has already made it clear that he will pick a strong XI as Palace look to attack the cup competitions, as they will see it as an opportunity to try and win a trophy.

So, QPR will need to be at their best if they are to get a result, but they may see it as a free hit, and there’s certainly much more pressure on the visitors.

Cifuentes’ men head into the game in high spirits after picking up a point at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in dramatic fashion.
