Eberl on Kane: „Doesn’t know if he wants to play in the Premier League again“ | OneFootball

Max Eberl has made a clear statement on the future of Harry Kane – and provided an insight into the considerations at FC Bayern.

Despite constant rumours from Spain, the sporting director currently sees no cause for concern. In response to the reports that FC Barcelona want to sign Kane, Eberl told Sport BILD: „We will sit down with Harry at the beginning of 2026 and talk about his future. We all sense how comfortable he feels at FC Bayern.“

Eberl left open how long Bayern want to keep the 32-year-old: „I don’t want to get ahead of myself, we will first have a conversation with Harry. We will look each other in the eye and ask: ‚How do you see it, how do you feel?‘ I don’t know whether he wants to go back to the Premier League or maybe do something completely different. But what I am sure of is that he and his whole family feel incredibly comfortable in Munich. Munich is a very safe and liveable place, Harry and his family appreciate that very much.“

Eberl raved about Kane: „In my opinion, Harry has a legitimate chance to play a major role in the world footballer vote. It’s incredible what he has achieved and he deserves to be in the final three for the Ballon d’Or. He would have my number one vote. But to come back to the question: I’m not too worried today that Harry Kane could leave us.“

Kane on alleged Barça interest: „Nobody has contacted me“

Kane himself recently made it clear that he is not concerned with the transfer rumours. „I haven’t been in contact with anyone, no one has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, even though we haven’t spoken to Bayern about my situation either,“ he told BILD.

There is no rush to make a decision: „There’s no rush. I’m really happy in Munich. You can see that in the way I play,“ Kane continued. His future is only likely to become a key issue after the 2026 World Cup.

The fact that Barcelona could seriously come knocking is considered a low probability scenario internally anyway. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Kane is „fully focused on Bayern and very happy at the club“.
