Max Eberl says Bayern Munich and Harry Kane both want a new contract, while cautioning the process is not a formality.
Kane struck his first goals of the season on Wednesday, a brace in a 4-1 win over VfL Osnabrück in the DFB-Pokal first round. According to BuLi News, Eberl said Bayern are in talks with the 33-year-old over an extension beyond the end of the season and that they remain confident of reaching an agreement.
He underlined that discussions still have to happen, so nothing should be assumed in advance. Both parties want the deal and, in his view, it should come together, though he does not know if it will be easy.
He was speaking to reporters after the game.
Bayern face Schalke on Saturday, giving Kane another chance to add to his tally.
