Aleksandar Pavlović has matured into an absolute top performer at FC Bayern. His career is reminiscent of that of icon Thomas Müller, which is why sporting director Max Eberl believes he could have a similar career

Like Thomas Müller, Aleksandar Pavlović has worn the FC Bayern jersey since he was a child. He has been a player for the German record champions since 2011 and went through all of FCB’s youth divisions. He was also born in Munich

In view of his strong performances this season, Sky presenter Britta Hoffmann asked herself in the run-up to the match against Borussia Mönchengladbach whether Pavlovic could become a kind of „Müller 2.0“. For sporting director Max Eberl, this is certainly within the realms of possibility. „Yes, he has what it takes to be a Müller 2.0,“ the sporting director made clear

Pavlović already carries as much responsibility as Thomas Müller once did. He has already played 32 competitive games this season as a double-six. He has also started all eight Champions League games and all four DFB Cup matches. These are the figures of a real top performer

Pavlović „was never considered the top talent“

However, it is by no means the case that this rapid rise was already apparent in his youth. As Eberl revealed in the Sky interview, Pavlović was „never regarded as the top talent“. On the contrary: „He worked really hard for it all. He earned the chance from Thomas Tuchel back then, then bit into it and is on a very, very good path,“ explained Eberl

Today, Eberl is highly satisfied with the development of the home-grown talent: „He’s 21, but what the boy does, how he marches, how he learns from greats like Leon, but also from others and how he goes his own way…“

Eberl is certain: „He has what it takes“ to one day follow a career path similar to that of Thomas Müller.
