Ecuador and USA reached the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup quarter-finals, while Nigeria and Spain made it three wins from three.
Group A – Nigeria 1-0 Dominican Republic, Ecuador 4–0 New Zealand
Group B – USA 5-0 South Korea, Colombia 1-2 Spain
Ecuador struck three times in an eight-minute spell during a 4-0 defeat of New Zealand. Domenica Arboleda’s opener was followed by a Caprice Chiuchiolo brace, with Dariala Morán later completing the scoring.
Nigeria topped the group when defeating hosts Dominican Republic but had to wait for a breakthrough until the penaultimate minute, when Shakirat Moshood found the net.
USA’s Melanie Barcenas scored seconds into both halves against South Korea, Kennedy Fuller, Mary Long and Maddie Padelski also on target.
Spain had to come from behind aginst Colombia to finish on maximum points. They trailed to a fifth-minute effort from Isabella Díaz, Amaya García levelling with a penalty and Iris Santiago netting a 90th-minute winner.
England play their Group C decider with North Korea at midnight tonight (BST), live on FIFA+, while the Group D games are streamed at 9pm with Zambia playing Japan and Poland up against Brazil.
