Edward Still has been named as the new Watford head coach after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.

The 35-year-old replaces Javi Gracia who resigned at the start of this month with Charlie Daniels having served as caretaker since then.

Like his brother Will, Ed was born in Belgium and has previously managed the likes of Charleroi, Eupen, and Kortrijk but more recently coached at Lens and at Anderlecht where he recently also filled in as interim manager.

Speaking about his appointment Still said: "I'm absolutely delighted, I'm so thrilled and proud to be here. This is a club which has a big place in English football and a fantastic history.

"All of the focus will be on winning games as quickly as possible and getting the best out of the players.

"Fans can expect our team to be aggressive, really compact defensively and attack with pace."

Still's first game in charge will be Saturday's fixture away to Preston North End with the Hornets currently sitting 11th in the Championship, three points of a play-off spot.
