Eddie Howe says Joelinton is set to miss a few weeks through injury, but Bruno Guimaraes could return for the Champions League game against PSG.
Joelinton limped off in the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa and is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
“Joe won’t make the game, he has had a scan, we don’t think it is a bad injury, but we think he will be out for a few weeks,” Howe said. “He will miss a few games.”
Guimaraes, meanwhile, missed the game against Villa with an ankle injury but Howe says he has travelled with the team for the game against PSG.
“Our other Brazilian, Bruno, is with us, and we will know more in the next few hours,” he said.
The Magpies sit seventh in the Champions League standings going into their final league stage game and will likely have to beat reigning winners PSG if they are to progress straight to the round of 16 and avoid the play-off round.
