Athletic are close to sending Eder García and Ibai Sanz on loan to Córdoba for next season in Segunda under Iván Ania. The paperwork is almost complete, according to as.com.

Eder García, from Rentería and born in 2004, is contracted until 30 June 2029 after arriving from Sanse. The 22-year-old holding midfielder debuted this season under Ernesto Valverde against Elche and Barcelona, and made 34 appearances with four goals for the reserves. He also received further senior call-ups.

Several Segunda clubs had shown interest. A loan was the plan, given a crowded midfield that Terzic will oversee in pre-season at Lezama.

Ibai Sanz, from Barakaldo and born in 2003, is a 1.83m striker known for his graft, movement and finishing. He scored 10 goals with five assists for Bilbao Athletic this term, matching last season's 10 in Primera Federación. Eldense and Ceuta have also tracked him.

Sanz is tied to Athletic until 2029. He previously spent loans at Gernika, scoring eight, and Sestado River, netting four, after 17 in 25 for Athletic's Juvenil de Honor and a spell with Basconia.

At Córdoba they will be tested in Segunda at the Nuevo Arcángel, mirroring recent months for academy forward Mikel Goti, now back at Real Sociedad.
