According to The Athletic, Manchester United have agreed a €40.5 million (£35 million) fee with Atalanta to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson. The move would make the 26-year-old Michael Carrick’s first signing since his appointment.

If he passes a medical, the transfer is expected to be completed when the window opens on 15 June, with a contract running to 2030.

Ederson joined Atalanta in January 2022 from Salernitana, having previously played for Cruzeiro, Corinthians and Fortaleza in Brazil.

He made his Brazil debut in June 2024 in a friendly against Mexico and has three caps. His most recent appearance came in March 2025, a 4-1 defeat to Argentina.

He has not been selected by Carlo Ancelotti for the 2026 World Cup.
