Ederson ‘to undergo’ second medical before Manchester United confirm transfer

Ederson’s proposed move to Manchester United remains unannounced, with the deal on hold pending a second stage of medical checks.

Fabrizio Romano reports that United are waiting for the Atalanta midfielder to travel to England to undergo those remaining tests.

He adds that the paperwork is prepared and ready to sign, but the club will not confirm the transfer until they have assessed the Brazil international’s fitness. Atalanta and the player reached agreement with United weeks ago, and Ederson completed the first part of his medical before joining Brazil for the World Cup.

Atalanta have appointed Maurizio Sarri as head coach for 2026-27.

They have also sold Marco Palestra to Chelsea for €60m in this summer’s window.
