Ederson ‘waiting for’ Manchester United final decision on €45m move | OneFootball

Ederson is awaiting Manchester United’s final decision on a €45m move from Atalanta after additional medical checks, amid conflicting reports.

BBC Sport and Sky Sports Deutschland now suggest no final verdict has been reached following scans conducted this week.

An agreement was in place in June for €40.5m plus €4.5m in add-ons. Completion was delayed as the midfielder was in the United States with Brazil at the 2026 World Cup, where only initial medical tests were carried out.

United requested further assessments to examine an issue, and after 48 hours of scans, Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia reported the club had pulled out. Those outlets said Atalanta were informed United would not proceed.

In Italy there was no suggestion of a serious injury concern, with some framing events as a change of heart over the last five weeks. It remains possible United seek to renegotiate terms, though Atalanta might not be open to that.
