Edu Gaspar confirms Flamengo approach amid hunt for new football director | OneFootball

Edu Gaspar has confirmed Flamengo have been in contact, as the club explore options for a new football director following Filipe Luís’s exit.

He told Ângelo Furtado that the club had made an approach and said he would speak in more detail on Saturday.

Club president Luiz Eduardo Baptista is pursuing a reshuffle. José Boto has become the next target, with the hierarchy intending to end the Portuguese director’s contract.

Baptista has begun the search for a new football director. Gaspar, currently with Nottingham Forest, is among the candidates and is in the process of leaving the Premier League club amid their current form.

Gaspar began his executive career at Corinthians, then moved to the Brazil national team before joining Arsenal. He was named the world’s best director in 2023 while at the English club, before taking up his role at Nottingham Forest.
