Coventry City travel to face Ipswich Town on Saturday in an eagerly-anticipated match
Former EFL striker turned pundit Sam Parkin believes that Ipswich Town and Coventry City are likely to share the spoils when they clash at Portman Road this coming weekend.
The Tractor Boys made up their extra fixture in hand on Tuesday night by rescuing a point with a 1-1 away draw with Blackburn Rovers thanks to Sindre Walle Egeli's 94th-minute striker, after the initial contest between the two clubs was controversially abandoned in September due to a waterlogged pitch.
Kieran McKenna’s team are now 15 points adrift of the league leaders, who will come to Portman Road on Saturday looking to maintain their winning run, which is currently at five in a row.
The Sky Blues are top of the Championship table after 18 fixtures, sitting 10 points clear of Middlesbrough in second as the midway point of the campaign approaches.
But Ipswich will be hoping to close reduce the points deficit this coming weekend, with their sights set on gaining promotion back to the Premier League after being relegated earlier this year.

Ex-Ipswich striker Parkin believes his former club will earn a point against the runaway league leaders, although he feels that the visitors are more likely to take victory if there is to be a winner.
The former striker-turned-pundit expects there to be goals as seventh takes on first in the Championship, and believes that a draw would be a better result for Coventry, even if it means their winning run coming to an end.
“I fancy [Ipswich] here for a point at least against Coventry,” Parkin said, via Benjamin Bloom’s YouTube channel.
“I think I would probably favour Coventry if I was to pick a winner, maybe high-scoring.
“I could see another entertaining 2-2 here.
“Probably a better point for Cov at this stage, maybe, despite them flying.
“Ipswich are going to want to start winning their home games if they’re going to continue to make things hard for themselves on the road.”
McKenna’s side have earned eight points from their last five games in comparison to the maximum 15 from five matches that the Sky Blues have won.
Saturday’s clash will also be the first game at Portman Road in four fixtures after the mixed up schedule led to the Tractor Boys playing away from home three times in a row, and their form has somewhat taken a dip as a result, with an indifferent set of results to boot.

Coventry’s fine winning run has given them a lot of breathing space in the Championship table, sitting 12 points clear of third-place Millwall as they currently stand.
That means they don’t necessarily need the win on Saturday as much as Ipswich does, particularly given their last two results, but momentum is a big thing in football, and to get as many points as possible before the turn of the year will make things easier in the final few months of the campaign for Frank Lampard.
McKenna’s side though need to bounce back, and a win over the Sky Blues would be a statement result, and it's not an impossible task either given Wrexham not long ago defeated Lampard's side on home soil.
