The technical staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Hossam Hassan, has made its decision: Egypt will play just one friendly match before the 2026 World Cup, against Brazil, on June 6.

Despite several proposals sent to the Egyptian Football Association to organize additional warm-up matches, the decision was made not to multiply the tests and instead to focus on a top-tier clash with the Seleção.

Indeed, offers were received to play against Switzerland, Norway, Austria, and Panama. However, the Pharaohs' staff decided that a single high-profile match would be enough as part of their set program.

In the same context, Egyptian FA member Mostafa Abou Zahra confirmed the scheduling of this friendly, stating that June 6 has been definitively set as the date.

At the 2026 World Cup, Egypt will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand. Brazil, for its part, is drawn in Group C with Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti.

The 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
