“Eight years at the Bernabeu is too short...six more years and forever” — Vinicius shuts down Arsenal links with six-year Real Madrid deal

Vinicius Junior has said he wants to stay at Real Madrid forever after signing a new contract with the club.
The 26-year-old has ended speculation over a potential move toArsenal by signing a new six-year contract with the Spanish giants.
The decision ends one of the sagas of the summer transfer window, withArsenal having been prepared to capitalise if a renewal could not be agreed. In a post on social media, Vinicius said he wants to finish his career at the Bernabeu.
"Eight years at the Bernabeu is too short...six more years and forever," Vinicius posted on his Instagram story.
Real Madrid expressed their delight at sealing the renewal and praised Vinicius for his 'pivotal' contribution across eight seasons with the club, which has included goals in two victoriousChampions League finals and The Best FIFA Men's Player Award in 2024.
"Real Madrid C. F. and Vinicius Jr. have agreed on the extension of our player's contract, which links him to the club until June 30, 2032,"the statement said.
"Vinicius Jr. joined Real Madrid in July 2018 at the age of 18. In his eight seasons wearing our jersey, he has played 375 matches, scored 128 goals, and won 14 titles: 2 Champions League, 3 Club World Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 3 LaLiga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 3 Spanish Super Cups.
"His contribution to all these titles has been pivotal due to his gameplay, assists, and goals, including those scored in the last two Champions League finals won by Real Madrid: the Fourteenth (Paris, 2022) and the Fifteenth (London, 2024)."
TheLa Liga side concluded their statement by calling Vinicius 'one of the most important players' in their modern history.
"Vinicius Jr. has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history," the club added.
