Eintracht Frankfurt and head coach Albert Riera, as well as assistant coaches Pablo Remon Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, have mutually agreed to part ways with immediate effect.

The coaching staff had taken over responsibility in February of this year. Under Riera’s leadership, the team recorded four wins, five draws, and five defeats. Eintracht Frankfurt finished the 2025/26 season in eighth place in the Bundesliga.

Executive Board Member Markus Krösche said: “After intensive discussions, we jointly came to the decision to end our cooperation with immediate effect. Albert Riera took over the team during a difficult phase and dedicated himself to Eintracht Frankfurt with great diligence and commitment. Albert and his staff also provided us with valuable impulses through their meticulous work, for which we would like to expressly thank them. At the same time, following an open and honest analysis of the sporting development, we came to the conclusion that we want to take a different path going into next season. We wish Albert Riera, as well as Pablo Remon Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, all the best for their personal and professional futures.”

Albert Riera: “The club and I have mutually agreed to end our cooperation. As head coach, I take responsibility for the sporting results, and throughout this period my only focus was to improve the team and achieve success. I felt it was my duty to protect the club and the players, and I would act the same way again at any time. I believed this was necessary in order to keep the full focus on achieving success on the pitch. Personal interests never mattered to me. My goal was, is and always will be the same: to develop players and achieve success.

I am grateful to have been part of the history of Eintracht Frankfurt and wish the club nothing but the best for the future.”
