Sky report that Eintracht Frankfurt have decided to go their separate ways with Albert Riera after things got out of hand both on and off the pitch. According to Florian Plettenberg, the decision has been made internally to relieve the coach from his duties at the end of the season.

Riera had a decent start at the helm before all hell broke loose last month. Including his public outrage over a reported rift with star striker Jonathan Burkardt, the 44-year-old struggled to maintain the calmness and authority shown by him in the first weeks at the job.

Plettenberg reported there are four names in Frankfurt’s shortlist for next season. The list includes Matthias Jaissle, who has won back-to-back Asian Champions League trophies with Al Ahli. The Eagles still have a chance to qualify for European competition as they currently sit in eighth place, one point behind Europa League semi-finalists SC Freiburg.
