Sky Germany reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are pressing to agree a deal for Bochum midfielder Cajetan Lenz this winter. The plan remains for a summer move to the Waldstadion, and they want to fend off strong interest from other clubs.
Frankfurt have already held talks with the player and with Bochum. A fee for the 19-year-old could be around €10-15m.
This season the Bochum native has made 17 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring two and providing one assist. The Ruhr club are 11th in the table.
Alongside a search for a new head coach, Frankfurt have focused this winter on recruiting from the lower divisions. Younes Ebnoutalib joined from 2. Bundesliga side Elversberg for €8m before suffering an injury.
Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab has arrived from the 3. Liga and Hoffenheim’s second team for €200k. Both players scored in their first games for the club.
