Eintracht Frankfurt have delivered contrasting MRI updates, with the club saying Arnaud Kalimuendo’s shoulder issue is minor, while Sport Bild claims Rasmus Kristensen faces a lengthy lay-off.

Eintracht said only that Kristensen’s ankle needs further assessment. Sport Bild reports a serious ligament injury that could sideline the Danish full-back for several months, possibly through to the end of the season.

The outlet added that the additional tests amount to a search for a second opinion, as Eintracht try to avoid losing another regular in defence.

The concerns follow news that defender Arthur Theate is also likely to be out for several months.

By contrast, a Sunday club statement said examinations showed Kalimuendo’s problem is not serious and a long-term absence is not expected.
