Sport BILD reports that Eintracht Frankfurt want to keep sporting director Markus Krösche for the long term and are not prepared to accept his potential departure.

The report says supervisory board chairman Mathias Beck will make a surprise approach to Krösche to open talks.

The aim is to try to extend his contract, which currently runs until 2028, on a longer-term basis.

It had been agreed that Krösche would notify the club in the spring if he planned to leave in the summer.

As no such notification came, Frankfurt now hope to seize a slim chance to secure a new deal.
