According to O Jogo, 16-year-old Fredrikstad midfielder Eirik Granaas is set to join FC Porto on a three-year contract, the maximum permitted for a minor, with a 50 million euro clause. He is already in Porto to sign.

Porto will pay 1.8 million euros for 100% of his economic rights, with a further 1.5 million euros in achievable bonuses. Fredrikstad retain 15% of any sell-on profit from a future transfer.

The Norway youth international will start with Porto B. Club figures believe he could progress quickly and establish himself in Francesco Farioli’s first-team squad in the medium term.

For Fredrikstad’s senior side he has scored one goal in eight appearances in 2026. On 14 August 2025 he became, since 1971, the youngest player to feature in a European competition, coming on in the 78th minute against Midtjylland at 15 years, four months and 21 days.

Porto are said to have seen off interest from Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Dortmund and Leipzig to land the midfielder. Granaas has been compared to compatriot Martin Odegaard of Arsenal and to Luka Modric, a Milan midfielder and the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner.
