El Khannouss’ permanent Stuttgart move hinges on key conditions | OneFootball

When Bilal El Khannouss joined VfB Stuttgart on loan from Leicester City last summer, it was widely reported that the deal included a purchase obligation.

Sky Germany now reports that for the 21-year-old Moroccan attacker’s move to become permanent for around €20 million, several conditions must be met. 

One key requirement is that El Khannouss plays 20 matches for Stuttgart – he has already featured 18 times, so this is almost certain to be fulfilled.

Another condition reportedly requires Stuttgart to finish the season in a “realistically achievable” league position, but the exact target is unclear.

The German media outlet also notes that Stuttgart do not hold a straightforward purchase option. If the conditions aren’t met, they can't automatically complete the transfer and would need to negotiate a fee with Leicester City.

El Khannouss has established himself as a key performer for the Bundesliga side, racking up five goals and four assists in 18 games.
