El Mourabet caps first half surge as Strasbourg stay eighth

Strasbourg beat Nice 3-1 on Saturday at the Meinau to remain eighth in Ligue 1, ending the visitors' five-match unbeaten run in this fixture.
In the 28th minute Martial Godo glanced in Guéla Doué's cross. Julio Enciso doubled the lead on a fast break (36.), before Samir El Mourabet arrowed a left-footer into the top left from outside the box after a corner was cleared (42.).
After the restart, Mike Penders kept Le Racing in control with sharp saves to deny Mohamed Ali Cho and Elye Wahi.
Half time changes lifted Les Aiglons, and Dante later teed up Antoine Mendy to pull one back with a low strike from outside the area (82.).
Le Racing posted 16 attempts and 59% possession, asserting control before the interval.
Les Aiglons registered eight attempts as they chased the game.
