El Pichu Cuéllar has been hospitalised after a large structure in Real Mallorca’s Son Bibiloni dining area collapsed on him, leaving a significant head wound.

The club said in a statement that the incident happened this morning, before Luis García’s scheduled training session. Despite the scare and the severity of the cut, he is fine.

The veteran goalkeeper is admitted and will remain under observation for one day to rule out more serious problems.

The setback will presumably sideline El Pichu for at least one match. With Bergström away on Finland duty, Luis García currently has only Arnau Tenas available as a first-team goalkeeper.

Toni Dols and Nil Torreguitart will step in for training and, in principle, are set to be included in the squad for Sunday’s game at Montilivi against Girona, kick-off 21.00.
