Newcastle United welcomed Liverpool at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and got their noses ahead in the fifth minute thanks to Anthony Elanga’s goal. Matthias Jaissle’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Cody Gakpo equalised for the Reds with a good strike from long range in the 55th minute. However, Joe Willock restored his team’s lead in the 57th minute. However, Newcastle conceded a late equaliser as Dominik Szoboszlai converted his penalty in injury time. The match ended with the Tyneside club earning an entertaining 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park.
