Elche head coach Eder Sarabia has made clear his frustration with the standard of officiating in his side’s meeting with Real Madrid.
This comes amid the assurance on the part of the Spaniard that incorrect refereeing decisions cost Elche a potentially historic three points.
In particular, Sarabia is of the opinion that Real Madrid’s 2nd of the evening should have been ruled out, owing to a foul by Vinícius Jr. on Iñaki Peña.
Speaking to the media post-match, the 44-year-old vented:
“I’m not at all happy with the draw against Real Madrid. Vinícius’ action on Iñaki Peña is a clear foul. He left his nose like that because he hit him in the face. I’m very angry with the refereeing because it influenced the final result.”
Elche and Real Madrid were ultimately forced to settle for a share of the spoils upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to proceedings at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero last night.
This came after the latter twice fought back from a goal down, through strikes on the part of Dean Huijsen and Jude Bellingham, en route to a 2-2 draw.
