Liverpool need to think about replacing Mo Salah soon. One Premier League star is making his case.

Mo Salah signed a new contract at Liverpool this year, committing himself to Anfield until 2027. But it has only prolonged the inevitable.

Salah can't play forever and the Reds must replace him at some point. In fact, it's notable that they've made essentially zero attempts to do so thus far.

And that's no comment on Salah himself. More that Liverpool are so content with playing him in every single major game with no like-for-like backup.

It's the only area of the squad where that's the case and essentially guarantees that the ultimate replacement will come via a transfer. Though, that's not an easy one to make.

But one Premier League star is certainly making a case to be that replacement when the time comes.

Antoine Semenyo continues to shine

Antoine Semenyo has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season. Liverpool saw that up close, in fact, as he scored a brilliant brace in the season kick-off.

Saturday saw more of the same as Semenyo ended with a goal (penalty) and an assist as Bournemouth beat Brighton 2-1 at home. It was another performance that made the Ghanian looks unstoppable at times - his powerful running and brilliant control is troubling defenders.

In fact, it feels as though things have really clicked for Semenyo. Last season was certainly a bit of a breakout with his 11 goals but these first four games have been fantastic.
