On that timetable, he is unlikely to feature again before October.

The 20-year-old was one of last season's revelations in the Premier League, scoring 13 times, the best return in the Cherries squad.

He closed the campaign in form, with five goals across the final eight league fixtures as Bournemouth qualified for the Europa League.

His rise has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Barcelona have identified him as a plan B should their move for Julian Alvarez fail.
