Elijah Upson has visited the Arsenal training ground as he considers his next move following his exit from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old defender turned down the professional terms offered by the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club and is pondering joining the Gunners.
The Emirates Stadium club could lose 16-year-old prodigy Kyran Thompson to Spurs after his contract ended, and Upson could move in the opposite direction to join Arsenal.
However, the teenage defender has yet to make a final decision despite checking out the Sobha Realty Training Centre.
The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and AS Monaco are also keen on Upson.
He has been visiting some of these clubs and is expected to make a decision later this month.
He left Tottenham after 11 years having featured for them at under-17, under-18, and under-21 levels.
Upson’s pace and athleticism are some of the qualities which have attracted the Gunners and others to him.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has seen his side miss out on Leicester City teenage sensation Jeremy Monga, with the 16-year-old set to join Man City.
He will hope the Gunners can sign Upson ahead of others given his huge potential and talent.
Tottenham will be gutted to have lost such a player but they could end up having two youngsters from Arsenal in his stead.
Spurs are pushing hard to sign Thompson and are also firmly in the race to sign Mishel Nduka after he left Arsenal last week.
