Manchester United and Lionesses star Ella Toone is set for a prolonged injury absence after the club confirmed she has torn her calf.
Toone had previously appeared in a staggering 96 straight matches before missing United's WSL showdown with Leicester City over the weekend.
“Ella picked up an injury in training the day before the Leicester game," confirmed United boss Marc Skinner.
"She took a calf injury in a small, bottled session. She will definitely miss these two games, she will miss the international window where we will keep assessing her and we will then see if she is back for the three-game block after that.
“She will definitely miss this block here and the international window recovering from the calf injury.”
United currently sit fifth in the WSL, seven points behind league leaders Chelsea.
Next up for the Red Devils is a League Cup clash with Everton.
