New drone footage shows early progress on Leeds United’s Elland Road expansion after the 2025/26 Premier League season. Plans target a 53,000 capacity via redevelopment of the North and West Stands, with completion hoped for by 2030.
According to CC Overview, work on the West Stand was already under way at the end of May, and fresh images from Tuesday 9 June show further activity. The West Stand is the immediate focus of the project.
Earlier footage showed Portakabins used by visiting teams being taken away and a partial demolition of the ticket office. The ticket office has now been removed entirely, with additional progress on the banqueting suite behind the West Stand.
Around a third of the external structure outside the West Stand has been demolished, with the drone offering a look inside the building. The away fans tunnel in the same area has also been knocked down.
A temporary structure is also rising behind the North Stand after work began towards the end of the season. The building is expected to host corporate facilities during the expansion phase.
Inside the ground, the turf appears to have been lifted ahead of pitch preparation for next season, while dugouts near the West Stand have been removed and screening erected. Work on the pitch and technical areas will be finished before the new campaign, but chairman Paraag Marathe has warned of disruption through 2026/27 as wider plans continue, asking supporters to bear with the process.
