Construction has started at Elland Road as Leeds United begin a stadium overhaul aimed at elevating the ground among Europe’s elite venues.
Significant groundwork took place over the weekend and into this week, a club spokesperson said, adding that enforcement works are ongoing.

Major construction is scheduled after the current season. Plans include expanding the West and North Stands and targeted alterations to the South Stand, lifting capacity to 53,000.
The redevelopment will bring Elland Road up to UEFA Category 4 status.
