Liverpool are in the midst of renewing contracts in midfield but there's one player who looks conspicuously absent with a lack of talk. No one is reporting that Alexis Mac Allister will get a new deal.
Or at least, no one is reporting that he'll sign one. Ryan Gravenberch? Yes. Dominik Szoboszlai? Yes. We imagine Curtis Jones will get one, too, as losing him as a homegrown star makes absolutely no sense.
And so moving Mac Allister on for a large fee and replacing him with Anderson could well be the move. It would hopefully cover the entire costs of signing the Forest man - or even just a large portion of it.
But it would also increase the homegrown quota while also giving Liverpool a little bit more defensive pressure in midfield. It's something they're lacking right now and honestly, this little 'swap' makes a lot of sense for them.
It's one to watch in 2026, then. Mac Allister has been consistently linked with the likes of Real Madrid and if Anderson is happy to head to Anfield, it could be the trigger for a couple of major deals.
