Newcastle United are preparing to host Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park this weekend in the Premier League. They have shown good form in recent games and would be hoping to carry it on further. They are eighth in the points table with 47 points after 31 rounds of play.
It will be a good clash as Spurs will be desperate for three points, while the Magpies will do everything to stop them. The latter club have already started planning and executing plans for the next season to fight in all competitions.
Defence
Martin Dubravka is expected to start between the sticks for Newcastle United. He suffered a blow during last week’s clash but should be available for selection. Emil Krafth had an off day against Fulham but that shouldn’t be stopping him from being deployed on the right-back.
The centre-back duo of Dan Burn and Fabian Schar will have to play a vital role if the Magpies want to stop the in-form Spurs’ attacking lineup. Expect no change for the left-back spot as Lewis Hall continues to retain his position.

Midfield
While Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff are likely to operate in the midfield, Joe Willock might be sent to the bench after he failed to drop a convincing performance. Elliot Anderson is the front-runner to fill the latter’s spot.
Attack
Alexander Isak will continue to lead the offensive line. However, Jacob Murphy is to face stiff competition from Harvey Barnes for the right flank role. Anthony Gordon remains an undisputed pick as the left winger. The English attacker has been doing well for the team this season.
Sven Botman (ACL), Jamaal Lascelles (ACL), Joelinton (thigh), Lewis Miley (back), Kieran Trippier (calf), Nick Pope (shoulder), Valentino Livramento (ankle) and Miguel Almiron (knee) are the confirmed absentees. On the other hand, Matt Targett and Joe Willock’s availability is subject to fitness.
