Personal and team objectives
“On a personal level, my goal is to regain my self-confidence, play freely and enjoy my football. I’m very grateful for the opportunity Valencia CF have given me. As a team, the goal is to achieve everything possible, and I want to contribute -starting this Sunday.”
Challenges
“It’s difficult to adapt when you’re coming from England, with so much rain there and the sun here. I’ve really felt the heat in training. This is an opportunity, a big step in my career, and I’m going to adapt to the culture. It’s been an incredible two days, and I’m sure we’ll keep improving.”

His best position
“I’m very happy and eager to play, in whatever position is required. I’m 100% committed.I want to take things one game at a time. I’ve seen what this team are capable of, and I believe we can do very well for the fans and the club, by having confidence in ourselves, believing in the group and supporting each other, starting this Sunday.”
The perception of Valencia CF in England
“Valencia CF are seen as a big club in Europe because of the quality of past players here, like David Silva and David Villa. It’s not only Valencia CF, but also all of the different clubs in LaLiga. This is an incredible opportunity for me, and taking Valencia CF back into Europe, to the UEFA Champions League, is something we would like to see, but it will be tough because there is a lot of competition. However, with hunger, desire, and motivation, it could be possible.”

Conversations with the club and his arrival at Valencia CF
“It was my decision to come here. I had a few calls with Carlos Corberán, in which we talked about my objectives and what he expected of me as a player. The start of the season has been tricky, but there’s still a long way to go. We can’t let ourselves be swayed by what’s being said from the outside; we have to take things one game at a time. We have to get into a positive rhythm. We hope to reach the end of the season leaving this bad start behind us and focusing on the possible achievements we can attain.”
Setting objectives for himself
“I’ve set myself a target of between 10 and 20 goals and assists.”

Mamardashvili
“I didn’t want to tell him too much about Valencia CF’s interest in me when I asked him about the club. He’s a great guy, and I thank him for the welcome message.”
ValenciaCF
“This club have some fantastic things about them, and you can feel that ‘old school’ atmosphere everywhere. It’s a privilege to be here and contribute by doing my bit for the history of this club. Just being here is an achievement in itself.”
English players in LaLiga
“Five is a considerable number of us. It’s becoming more and more common now. Every player has to follow their own path, and this opportunity is incredible. I love Valencia, and I come here whenever I can during my holidays.”
The last season at Mestalla
“It’s incredible. I’ve talked about it with my family, and it’s an achievement to be able to play in a stadium with as much history as Mestalla. When I’m older, I hope to look back and remember this great moment with pride.”

We have a long season ahead of us, and this situation will help motivate us even more and allow us to have a great season."
